The Coalition of Community Based Heritage Language Schools is inviting everyone to its 8th annual conference. Hosted by American University, the conference for Innovation in Education will be offered online on October 8-9, 2021. The Kazickas Family Foundation is a proud supporter of the conference, as it is a big advocate of the Lithuanian Heritage Schools in the US.
The conference brings the heritage language school community together to build partnerships, strengthen schools, deepen the activism of the coalition, and share resources. The partnership and advocacy of diverse participants and supporters have helped the coalition get the message out to the language community and beyond about the importance of community-based heritage language schools and the families they serve.
During the two day conference, the participants will be able to hear from the leaders that promote and help to sustain and grow language education initiatives in the United States, such as ACTFL, Center for Applied Linguistics, Joint National Committee for Languages/National Council for Languages and International Studies and many others. Workshop topics will cover Working with Parents and Engaging Students, Using Inquiry-based, Problem-based, and Project-based Learning with Diverse Learners, Maximizing Language Learner Opportunities with Seals of Biliteracy among many others.
Conference Registration: $25 general online admission for all sessions. Please use this link to register for the conference.
Please note: The 2021 Community-Based Heritage Language School Conference will be held entirely online. This decision was made based on American University in-person event guidelines.
