Idea of „Renkuosi mokyti!“ [Teach for Lithuania]. „Renkuosi mokyti!“ attracts young, active, creative and motivated people to schools. The program will help each child learn, especially those who are in the highest need of inspirational role model, support, genuine attention and individualized learning. This is an alternative way for young people with leadership potential to come to teaching and education Pedagogical certificate is not required for participation.

The program has been adapted in Lithuania, based on „Teach For All“ model. A system of recruitment, selection and professional support of young teachers has been created with cooperation between education and business. „Renkuosi mokyti!“ participants work as teachers for two years, they help each child achieve better learning results, and contribute to school communities with innovative ideas. After two years in the classroom „Renkuosi mokyti!“ participants become leaders who bring positive change in education and society.

„Renkuosi mokyti!“ aims:

  • to see each child at the centre of education, to meet their individual learning needs;
  • to instill not just facts, but also educate for skills and competencies;
  • to reach students in rural and regional schools;
  • to encourage cooperation between schools and society, bring the good news about Lithuanian schools and teaching profession;
  • to educate and rally the new generation of educational leaders.

Facts and numbers. „Renkuosi mokyti!“ is run by a non-governmental organization Centre For School Improvement. „Renkuosi mokyti!“ ir a partner in global education network Teach For All.

Since 2008, RM grew to 140 program fellows and alumni who mainly stay connected to education after finishing the program. In ten years RM has reached around 26 000 children in the country. For small cities and village schools RM programme is almost the only chance to receive a young, active specialist who is able to inspire and empower children. 2/3 of program fellows stay in teaching, others work in education on the national level or remain actively involved with education through voluntary activities, while working in business or higher education.

Since 2014 Kazickas Family Foundation contributed to the successful preparation of three cohorts of Renkuosi mokyti! (RM) fellows.

Alumni leadership. Among „Renkuosi mokyti!“ alumni who have finished two years in the program, there is a school principal, a deputy principal, a teacher methodist, two senior teachers, several NGO founders and leaders, a PhD, four national prize winners for young teachers who live by values of democracy, community, citizenship, nationality, humanism and creativity.
