On February 24th Domantė Greifenbergerytė, KFF Vilnius Office Executive Director, had the honor of attending the annual Dr. Joseph P. Kazickas Student Programming Contest organized by Kaunas University of Technology.
In 2022 we started our partnership with a grantee Vilnius Social Club when it needed support to continue the activities benefiting around 100 young people. For the last 10 years, the organization has offered educational and social support through sports, public work, and the teenager day club to children and youth who experience various difficulties. The Club is an important part of our grantee community because it represents some of the focus areas of the Foundation’s philanthropic work – youth inclusion and empowerment.
Dr. Joseph P. Kazickas’ visionary views toward the education of future generations have resulted in a partnership with Kaunas University of Technology, which has lasted for over 27 years.
Dr. Joseph P. Kazickas and Alexandra Kazickas had a visionary mission to ensure a better future for youth. Therefore, empowerment of young people plays an important role in the Kazickas Family Foundation activities.
One of the most essential priorities for the Kazickas Family Foundation is bridging the gap between the diaspora youth and Lithuania. Helping the young people get to know their roots and the people living here has opened many opportunities for them to participate in initiatives together and improve their understanding of Lithuania.
On October 19th, the Kazickas Family Foundation celebrated its 25th anniversary with a gala in Vilnius Town Hall. The goal of the event was to recognize the Foundation and its partners’ mutual accomplishments and to honor a few special organizations and people.
On 17 October, the Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Faculty of Informatics (IF) hosted a solemn ceremony of awarding the Dr. Juozas P. Kazickas Auditorium. From now on, the 101 Auditorium of the Faculty of Informatics will be called Dr. Juozas P. Kazickas Auditorium.
In September, 15 members of the Kazickai family visited Lithuania: cousins, their partners, and a great-grandchild of Alexandra and Joseph Kazickas.
Youth Camp Summer Camp 2023 took place in Antalieptė, Innovators' Valley. The team used the experience gained last year to bring an even more productive week of life skills training, bonding, and having lots of fun, of course.
