Alexandra Kazickas Lithuanian Saturday School  (AKLS) of Long Island, New York is a nonprofit organization formed for educational pursuits, operating under the rules of Lithuanian Educational Council of the USA. The school has been serving about 500 members of the Lithuanian community of the East End of Long Island since 2006. The school is attended by 34 students, ages 2 to 17. They learn Lithuanian language, history and culture taught by eight teachers for four hours per Saturday, 32 Saturdays a year. The program is partially funded through tuition, Lithuanian Foundation and fundraising. Over the past eleven years, the Kazickas Family Foundation gave $ 285,000 to the AKLS and remains its main sponsor. For more information go to Alexandra Kazickas Lithuanian School website.
