Literacy Award in Memory of P. Butenas and A. Kazickas

The Kazickas Family Foundation together with the Lithuanian Language Association is inviting the qualifying individuals to submit their applications for the Literacy Award in Memory of the linguist P. Butenas and his student A. Kazickas.
This award was established in 2018 in memory of Petras Butenas, a linguist, anthropologist, interpretor and teacher and Alexandra Kalvenas-Kazickas, his student and Lithuanian language and culture patron. The award, presented for extraordinary work and accomplishments in the Lithuanian language field, is truly special this year, because on June 25, 2021 Petras Butenas would have turned 125.
In 2019 first recipient, dr. Bronius Dobrovolskis, an educator, Lithuanian language teaching specialist and textbook author, was presented the award for his life-long meaningful and resourceful work in the linguistic and educational fields.
The 2020 the recipient of the award was Lithuanian Language Institute member dr. Rita Miliunaite. The areas of her expertise cover normative linguistics, sociolinguistics, and internet linguistics.
