Aside to all the important work done during his trip to Lithuania in June, Peter Kazickas found time to visit some dear relatives and family friends, as well as see few of the most amazing places that make Lithuania so beautiful.
“We had the great honor of meeting with the former President and First Lady, Valdas & Alma Adamkus. They graciously invited us to their home where we enjoyed a glass of wine, snacks and great conversation. Two truly amazing people,” Peter shared.
Later on he explored the Labanoras Regional park, the largest one in Lithuania, distinguished by a variety of landscapes and extremely rich flora and fauna, continued his adventures kayaking down Zeimena river and together with his girlfriend Aluna, headed toward the Baltic seashore.
“After a few more meetings in Vilnius and Panevezys, Aluna and I set our sights on the seashore and spent two nights in Klaipeda. We explored the sand dunes, relaxed on the beach, listened to live music and even saw a moose and a fox! This was a great way to wrap up an amazing trip to Lithuania!
At this point it is important to note how none of this wonderful experience would have been possible if not for Rolandas and Kristina, Agne, Kamile, Arminas and the entire team. The hospitality we are received with is always of the highest order and we are grateful to have such loving friends and family in Lithuania - including Rolanda's lovely mother Vlada who I was so excited to see for lunch in Panevezys. It had been so long!
For our last night, we hosted a dinner at the house to say thank you and farewell to our friends. Of course, this wasn't just your typical goodbye party. Thanks to Agne, we were blessed by a performance by the incredible accordion player, Martynas Levickis. This was an absolutely extraordinary experience and it made me so happy to know how pleased my grandparents would be to know that their home was filled with great music and great company. Thank you Martynas!” concluded Peter Kazickas planning his next trip to Lithuania already.
