Twenty Five Lithuanian Heritage Schools Receive Support Through the Alexandra Kazickas Grant Program
01/16/2018

The Kazickas Family Foundation is starting the year 2018 with exciting new ideas and plans, while being truly dedicated to the causes their beloved parents cared so much about. While remembering Mamyte Alexandra Kazickas (1920-2011) and her eternal care for Lithuania's children, we are glad to share that KFF decided to grant $108,090 to support 25 Lithuanian Heritage Schools in the US this year.

Since 2012 Alexandra Kazickas Grant Program donated $663,700 to Lithuanian Heritage Schools in the US. In addition, it is also the main supporter of the Alexandra Kazickas Lithuanian School in Riverhead that was established in 2006. The Kazickas Family Foundation also sponsors testers' seminars in Boston and Vilnius, students' Lithuanian language proficiency tests and has been contributing to the Lithuanian Educational Council of the USA for many years.

Alexandra Kazickas was deeply committed to the preservation of a Lithuanian identity for young people growing up in the US. Lituanian heritage schools help preserve Lithuanian language and culture for the benefit of individuals, communities and society. When in partnership with local organizations and academic institutions in the US as well as in Lithuania, Heritage schools provide students with multiple ways of learning through educational and enrichment experiences and opportunities. KFF seeks a stronger impact of the Lithuanian education on students and is exploring new creative avenues allowing to connect them with Lithuania in the most rewarding ways.

The Kazickas Family wishes all schools' children, teachers and parents an exciting and productive year and sends their gratitude, encouragement and support.
