United by the Common Goal: Renkuosi Mokyti! and Kazickas Family Foundation
01/09/2019

Renkuosi mokyti! (Teach For Lithuania) program is working towards the success and joy for every child in Lithuania since 2008. Driven by the belief that the future of the country starts in the classroom, talented motivated people choose to teach for at least two years of their careers.

Fellows share their experience with children, inspire them and wider school community to create better futures to themselves and all of us. RM fellows initiate and create change projects in the school communities not for them but together with them.

Kazickas Family Foundation is working towards creating a better world for the current and for the future generations of Lithuanians and also supports Renkuosi mokyti!. Since 2014 Kazickas Family Foundation contributed to the successful preparation of three cohorts of Renkuosi mokyti! (RM) fellows. RM community at the moment consists of 140 program fellows and alumni who mainly stay connected to education after finishing the program. In ten years RM has reached around 26 000 children in the country. For small cities and village schools RM programme is almost the only chance to receive a young, active specialist who is able to inspire and empower children.

Driven by the common vision RM alumni have also contributed to Kazickas Family Foundation initiative "Youth Can" (formerly ‘The Power of Basketball’) by creating modules for helping coaches to work with developing children life skills. For both: RM fellows and ‘Youth Can" coaches their work is not about curricular - the focus of their work is life skills needed for a successful 21st century citizen.

Recently RM representatives Skaiste Lazdauskaite and Roberta Ziziene participated at international Teach For All conference in Nepal. Teach For All is one of the biggest educational NGOs in the world which unites RM and similar Teach For programs seeking to ensure quality education for all children around the globe no matter their circumstances. Teach For fellows have positive impact not only to children but also to the whole community around it. While in Nepal RM staff visited the only catholic church in Kathmandu which was built by Dr. Juozas Kazickas to honor his son who had died in Nepal. Skaiste and Roberta were warmly welcomed by a young family who is taking care of the area. The impact of good things done is felt even here - thousands kilometers away from Lithuania and USA.

On the 8th of November 2018 Renkuosi mokyti! held a ten year anniversary conference in Vilnius where Jurate Kazickas gave a congratulations speech and reminded to RM community in Lithuania that youth is the biggest treasure which country has. RM is honored to have such an amazing partner who works towards creating better future for people in Lithuania.
