During their trips to Lithuania, the Kazickas family members find time to visit KFF's dedicated partners to express their gratitude for all the work they do. During their latest trip in January, Jurate and John Kazickas visited few organizations that contribute to 'Youth Can" program, ran by KFF.

During their trip to Lithuania in January, Jurate Kazickas, her husband Roger Altman and brother John Kazickas were invited to MO Museum for a tour and a discussion. Museum‘s founders Viktoras and Danguole Butkus and Marius Jakulis Jason Foundation founder Marius Jakulis Jason and his family chatted with the guests about the philanthropy path in Lithuania.

During their trip to Lithuania, Jurate Kazickas and her brother John Kazickas invited Kaunas University of Technology representatives that coordinate Dr. Joseph P. Kazickas programming and IT application contests for schoolchildren in Lithuania to their family residence in Vilnius.

Roger C. Altman, Jurate Kazickas‘ husband and one of 19 the Kazickas Family Foundation‘s members, spent few very busy and productive days in Lithuania this January. Mr. Altman, who is Founder and Senior Chairman of Evercore, the most active independent investment bank in the world, was invited to Lithuania to share his expertise and to explore financial, philanthropic and political aspects of modern Lithuania.

During his recent trip to Lithuania John Kazickas stopped by at the Center for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology at Vilnius University Children’s Hospital and was pleasantly surprised by a tremendous renovation done at the Center.

Lithuanian hero Mr. Albinas Kentra - partisan, annalist of the history of the road to freedom of Lithuania, preserver of the memory of the forest brothers - was awarded a Freedom Prize 2019.

Today, January 13, Lithuania observes Freedom Fighters Day. It abandoned the Soviet legacy 29 years ago and embarked on a path leading to democracy and membership in the EU and NATO. Lithuanians remember January 13, 1991, as the day on which 14 people lost their lives for their country's independence. Let's wear Forget Me Not bloom today close to our hearts and light a candle remembering Lithuania's heroes, let's not forget what Freedom meant to every Lithuanian in 1991 and what it means to us today.
