Last weekend KFF program's "Youth Can" coaches and team captains met at the second seminar offered for coaches this season which focused on youth life skills development.
Today, January 13th Lithuania observes Freedom Fighters Day. It abandoned the Soviet legacy 28 years ago and embarked on a path leading to democracy and membership in the EU and NATO. Lithuanians remember January 13, 1991, as the day on which 14 people lost their lives for their country's independence. Let's wear Forget Me Not bloom today close to our hearts and light a candle remembering Lithuania's heroes, let's not forget what Freedom meant to every Lithuanian in 1991 and what it means to us today.
Vilnius University Institute of International Relations and Political Scienceis is inviting all to the meeting where Baltic Studies Post-Doctoral fellowship at Yale University will be presented. The meting will take place Thursday, January 17th at 5pm at the large auditorium.
Halfway through the Youth Can 2018/2019 season, more than 300 program's boys and girls from 16 towns and villages of Lithuania are going to Jonava where they will meet at the second program‘s event.

Hoops 4 Hope (H4H) is an international non-profit that has been operating for the last 23 years in underserved communities throughout Zimbabwe and South Africa. Using sport as our platform, Hoops 4 Hope is dedicated to giving children and young adults the tools needed to face the many challenges of growing up in disadvantaged communities.
Petras Butenas (1898-1980) was a linguist, an anthropologist, an interpretor and a teacher. He researched Lithuanian language dialects, prepositions, place names, contributed preparing Lithuanian dictionary, wrote the accentuation text book. He was also Alexandra Kazickas' Lithuanian language and literature teacher at the Panevezys High School for Girls. In 2002 Alexandra Kazickas established the award in the honor of her dear teacher Petras Butenas.
Looking back with gratitude. Back in October a group of youth of Lithuanian descent living in Russia and Belarus, visited the Kazickas family residence in Vilnius to learn about Joseph P. Kazickas and his incredible life.
