Lithuanian Christian magazine "Ateitis"(Future) shares prof. Vaidotas Vaicaiitis' experience at Yale University where he spent six months thanks to dr. Joseph Kazickas Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Yale. Here are some excerpts from the interview:
On March 25, 2017, one hundred sixty-eight Lithuanian Heritage Schools students from the US and Europe took a Lithuanian Language Proficiency Test. The test and its creation serves as one good example of the benefit of the Global Lithuania initiative: a collaboration between Lithuanians in the diaspora and in Lithuania.
Summer camp is a bunch of children laughing and giggling, cartwheels while running through the fields and never ending smiles on their faces. That was exact atmosphere at the camp where for the first time children who lost their hair due to Alopecia and those who lost it fighting cancer were invited to spend time together. That's the camp where children are simply children - without any stereotypes, insecurities or labels.
For the second year in a row bell music sounds at the Pazaislis Music Festival. "The Sounding Stories of the Bells," initiated by the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Lithuania Bert van der Lingen and sponsored by the Kazickas Family Foundation and the Netherlands Embassy in Vilnius can be heard during nine different concerts in five different towns in Lithuania.
Three years ago Joseph Peter Kazickas was laid to eternal rest. A devoted family man, a statesman, a generous philanthropist, he led a wonderfully full, productive and exciting life.
During the Kazickas family visit to Lithuania in June, they visited Santariskes Hospital Pediatric Oncology patients. Pediatric cancer and children affected by it are very close to Marcie Kazickas' heart who suggested an idea of bringing some canine love to young patients.

While there are many ways to celebrate the Independence Day, here in the Kazickas Family Foundation, let us celebrate it together with the present recipients of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, while remembering the former ones also!
Pasvalys region newspaper "Darbas" publishes a story about the Kazickas Family Foundation's support renovating computer classroom at the Pasvalys Petras Vileisis school.
During the Kazickas Family trip to Vilnius in June, they had an opportunity to meet ASSIST new students who will be embarking on their new adventure at the end of summer. President Valdas Adamkus with his wife Alma Adamkiene, as well as US Ambassador to Lithuania Anne Hall congratulated the students, ASSIST alumni and students' families.
This month 23 most active and academically strong Kaunas University of Technology students were presented scholarships during the award ceremony at the University "Santaka" Valley. Six of them received the Kazickas Family Foundation's scholarships.
