Last Saturday, June 2nd, Lithuanian Educational Council of USA invited educators from the Lithuanian schools in the US and policy makers and administrators from Lithuania to New York for a discussion on issues Lithuanian schools in the US face.

Thanks to generosity of U.S. Embassy in Vilnius, last weekend Basketball Power children from Ariogala had a fun and educational tour of the US Bainbridge Navy ship in Klaipeda.

On June 1st, President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite visited "Devbridge Group" programming program's "Sourcery for Kids" end of the first season event. This initiative teaches 7-12 year olds programming for free. The Kazickas Family Foundation supports this initiative with 50,000 euros with a goal to reach children attending day centers.

For the third year in a row Pazaislis Music Festival together with the Kazickas Family Foundation introduce "The Sounding Stories" of unique carillon music. Well known Lithuanian carillonists will perform at the festival this summer as well.

On May 5th, "Child's Gate to Learning" was honored with a life award "Gyvybės apdovanojimas" in Vilnius. Board member Daina Čyvas accepted the award from Archbishop Gintaras Grušas on behalf of the organization. 

The oldest Lithuanian newspaper published outside of Lithuania "Draugas", shares news about dr. Joseph P. Kazickas exhibition to mark his 100th birthday anniversary at the Presidential Valdas Adamkus library in Kaunas.

On April 27, 2018 National Alopecia Association of Lithuania invited not just NAA community members, current and future, their family members and friends, but also specialists and doctors dermatovenerologists, trichologists and others who work in area related to alopecia, to the first such forum in Lithuania.

In 2006 United Nations General Assembly declared May 17th as a World Telecommunications and Information Society Day. Till then this day was celebrated as World Telecommunications Day marking the founding of ITU (International Telecommunications Union) and the signing of the first International Telegraph Convention in 1865.

Joseph Kazickas, who spent biggest part of his life in the US – was named a person who contributed most to the Lithuania’s economy and commerce in the last hundred years. This is according to DELFI readers who expressed their opinion in a survey lead by the Lithuanian Business Confederation to celebrate Restored Lithuania's 100.
